BEIJING, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- Italian forward Martin Boakye has revealed that he is to leave Chinese Super League club Qingdao Hainiu.

The 29-year-old striker wrote on social media on Friday that he decided to leave for unspecified reasons concerning the Qingdao team.

"I wanted to write this to tell you that I will not stay next year for various reasons of the team," he wrote, without giving any further details.

Boakye joined Qingdao Hainiu in February 2024 and scored 10 goals in 30 appearances, playing a key role in the Qingdao side's efforts to fight off relegation. ■
